The Last Few Breaths of 2010
I think I've learnt so much this year. About others, about myself... Well, just about humanity in general.
The biggest epiphany I've had this year is still the one about Relationships. To know who are the people who really matter, and appreciate them more. To avoid or eliminate others who only give out negative energy. It's tiring to deal with them. And that's something which I don't need at this point in my life.
I've learnt that it's okay to say "No". I've always been a very obliging person. But I've learnt that saying "No" doesn't make you bad, or any less nice. Sometimes you have to say "No" for your own sake, for your own health. How can one expect to help others, or make others happy, when he himself is in need of help? It's not impossible to do so, but being in a state of Wholeness enables one to better spread Joy to others around. And you need Rest to be able to do that.
It's also okay to say "No" because the people who should and do matter, will eventually understand. Of course we should never take them for granted. But generally, they do understand. Others that simply can't or won't understand and conversely give you grief for it... well, maybe it's time to do some relationship pruning. I'm just sayin', you know?
I've also learnt that Relationships are dynamic. They are constantly evolving and moving all the time. And it takes work to maintain a relationship. Until we realise that, none of our relationships are going to be lasting. Be it between family, friends or lovers. It all requires effort. Just to come home for dinner, and have a meal together, even if it's for that one or two hours. Just a chill session over coffee with old friends. Just time out for the two of you. It all requires effort. It all requires a certain time commitment. And we have to specially set aside time for that. Because it's important. Because it's what makes us, essentially Human.
If everything were about work & study, we'd be Robots. Take away work & study, and we'd just be empty shells, devoid of a Soul.
So yes, my New Year Resolution is to have more balance in my life. To set aside more time for the people whom I care for. To see them happy. If I can achieve this, then yes, I think it is a type of success too. And I think, maybe, just maybe, this might be the Secret to Happiness.

Recently, I heard about Penang new shopping mall – Straits Quay, but I have no idea what it looks like, just keep received a lot of positive comments: beautiful & nice environment, romantic, and suitable for portrait photography.

It’s that time of the year again. Birthday. I’m sure you guys know that I don’t really give a hoot about birthdays, but this year I do feel blessed that I have friends around me who bother. This year, I had encountered a lot of changes in my life. Ups and downs. Happy and unhappy stuff. But regardless of whatever changes, these are the people that have remained in my life. Stubbornness
Stubbornness can be a good trait if it's manifested as perseverance through hardship.
But when it becomes stubbornness just because you're too inflexible and set in your thinking, then it's time to do something about it.
Persevere? Move on? Change approach? What?

Effort & Patience.

All it takes is effort & patience to chip away at a big problem. Same way one would eat an elephant - piece by piece.

Standing on the sidelines watching. Wanting to step over that line, yet kept back by the invisible wall.
Here but not there. Two parallels moving together, never meeting?
Will one eventually move faster than the other?
Standing there on the platform, watching as the train moved off. The residual gust of wind settled down into mere a whimper as the lone figure stood there, unable to cross the line, kept back by the invisible wall. Alas! Was there a spot of tear?
"Will you wait for me. With me."
As the world moves on.
Or would the train have moved on, one station, and another. And another.
The lone figure stood rooted to the spot, wrinkled and gray.
Would there be, another lone figure across the platform, wrinkled and gray. Waving back?
"I'll miss the train together with you."

Life is MEANINGLESS!

I have always said that life is meaningless. We need to define it by doing things to fill up the voids. We find jobs, we study, we take up a religion, we take up a hobby, we decide our fashion sense, we gym, we travel, we fall in love, we get married etc… Everything we do in life is to give this meaningless entity a meaning… Without all these meanings, we will feel empty and we will be sad.
Some things are more valuable than others, thus, filling up a bigger void. Love usually fills up a bigger void. And that’s why we feel sadder when we fall out of love, as compared to perhaps failing an exam.
But people are good at filling up voids. Whenever there is a void, we become sad and soon, we will do something else to fill up this void…. Back to normal… There are people, however, who are unable to fill up a big void in their lives. This is when they go deeper into a depression and eventually commit suicide.
Some people kill themselves because they fall out of love. To be more precise, some people kill themselves because they fall out of love, thus creating a big void in life and they are unable to fill the emptiness up with something else. Leslie Cheung is a good example. He has all what others dream for in life and yet he ended it. He must have failed to fill up a very big void (whatever it is) and finally realise the meaninglessness of life.
Of course, not everyone will agree to this theory. I personally believe that everyone is subjected to this meaninglessness theorem whether they agree to it or not.
1. There are people who does not think that life is meaningless and continue to live life as per normal.
2. There are people who agrees that life is meaningless and that they are always depressed and suicidal (because they refuse to fill up their lives with meaning).
3. There are people who agrees that life is meaningless and keeps complaining about it being meaningless (they hate the idea of creating meanings in their lives but they do it anyway… so they complain).
4. There are people who agrees that life is meaningless but continue to live life as per normal (just like the people in ’1′
